I Thought I Just Had
“Bad Sleep.”

But the real problem started the second my head hit the pillow.

All day, I felt exhausted.

Mentally foggy.
Emotionally drained.
Running on caffeine and survival mode.

By nighttime, I’d tell myself:
“Tonight will be different.”

But every single night…

the same thing happened.

My body felt tired —
but my brain suddenly felt fully awake.

The second the room got quiet…

my mind started:
replaying conversations.
checking the clock.
bracing for another rough night.

It honestly felt like my brain forgot how to relax.

And the worst part?

Nobody around me understood it.

People kept saying:
“just sleep earlier.”
“put your phone down.”
“try melatonin.”

But it never felt that simple.

Because deep down…

it didn’t feel like a sleep problem.

It felt like my entire nervous system was stuck “ON.”

That’s when I came across a short video explaining something I had never heard before:

sometimes chronic stress and emotional overload can train the brain to stay alert at night…

even when the body is exhausted.

Suddenly everything made sense.

The mentally loud nights.
The racing thoughts.
The weird feeling of being tired…
but unable to fully switch off.

For the first time in a long time…

I stopped blaming myself.

And once I understood what was actually happening inside my body…

my nights slowly started feeling different.

Calmer.
Safer.
Less emotionally intense.

I’m not saying my life magically changed overnight.

But I finally felt like I understood WHY my brain wouldn’t relax.

And honestly?

That changed everything.

If your body feels exhausted…
but your brain feels fully awake at night…

you may want to watch this short video too.

Because you might not have “bad sleep.”

Your nervous system may just be stuck in stress-alert mode.
